About

In home massage therapist
My name is Rachel and I established Traveling Therapeutic Massage, shortly after receiving my license in 2008. Since that time I have worked for myself, as well as a few other mobile massage providers; local, national and world wide providers. In that time I have worked on many clients, of all types and many walks of life; vacationers, business travelers, entrepreneurs, professional athletes, celebrities, couples, moms, dads, brothers, sisters, cousins, children, elderly, aunts, uncles, grandmothers, grandfathers, or basically every kind of person. All of which have provided me with a great experience each time and I am very grateful for every experience.

To tell you a little bit about me as a therapist, I am an experienced and professional Arizona State Licensed Massage Therapist (aka LMT) that provides a traveling massage therapy service throughout the Phoenix area.  I am told I have a natural touch and seem to know the right pressure and right areas to work for just about anyone. Throughout my life I have always worked with people in a customer service aspect of one kind or another, and now I get to help people on a much deeper and more real way.

My initial training was completed at one of the top massage schools in the country, Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA), in Tempe, AZ, focusing on Myotherapy 7-Step Release, as well as Swedish and Lymphatic Massage.  Since receiving my license I have also received training in pregnancy massage, which is also called prenatal or maternity massage. As well as, Infant Massage instruction. Giving your newborn a massage is a great way to connect with them.

therapeutic massage
My specialty is a relaxing therapeutic massage, this uses enough deep tissue pressure to help release the muscles but gentle enough to be relaxing.  The pressure and techniques can be adjusted to your comfort level.  The variety of techniques that I use will assist you in relieving stress, relaxing tight muscles, and general healing and relaxation.

Some of the benefits that this provides for you are a reduction in over-all pain, reduced headaches, increased range of motion and mobility, less tension and many more.  And since you will be getting an in home massage you will not have to drive after the massage so you get to relax and enjoy it even more.  And you won't have to worry about getting stressed out driving home through traffic.

In home pregnancy massage
For a pregnancy massage, I utilize more therapeutic techniques. This helps give you relief from some of your aches and pains that can come from the changes in your body goes through while being pregnant, as well as help you relax and feel more in sync with yourself and your baby.  I can also do a lighter more Swedish-type of work as well.  There are several places that offer pregnancy massage but most only offer a light Swedish-type which can be very relaxing, but sometimes you need more than that and I have received training on proper techniques to be able to offer a massage that is more therapeutic and still ensure that mom and baby are safe.

At home massage
When I travel to you I bring with me a professional massage table (30 inches wide and 73 inches long with 2 1/2 inch padding and holds up to 450lbs.), sheets (draping is utilized at all times, for your comfort as well as mine), Jojoba oil and cream, and music. I also have, and generally bring with me, side extenders for those a bit wider in the shoulders (many have commented very positively about the extra elbow room!) and an end extender for those a bit taller.  Other items available upon request: aromatherapy, electric candles, body cushion (if requested), and hand-made sugar scrub (additional charge applies).
